Have you felt supported during your breastfeeding journey?

"I was informed during pregnancy to organise and find trained support before my first child came. I was aware how little support there was and which professionals could actually give me up to date trained advice… I also understood the boundaries of knowledge (who to not necessarily listen to)

I became a peer supporter and this role provided me with the support and ‘team’ to undertake breastfeeding twins (my 3rd term pregnancy was twins) because I was backed up by people who knew it was possible and provided the listening ear during the sleepless nights.  I was fortunate to have family who took on the knowledge I learned as a peer supporter, who then were able to support me during my journey, particularly while the twins were in NICU and I was in hospital pumping & hands expressing for them- my two older nurselings were brought to the hospital to nurse during this time."
